(entries from 07/08/07 - 09/13/07)

Sunday, July 8th, 2007 - Into work early (6 am! whew! I love it!) - off early at 2. Home, nap, eat burgers cooked on the grill (with mom and dad). Go over to ZOO, watch listen to "Music Under the Stars"!! Channel 24 was there videotaping footage for their 3rd of three commercials in partnership with the Toledo Zoo!! (2 - 30sec and a 60 second spot to be played on channel 24) Gordon Ward announced the videotaping, and there was a guest "Salsa" instructor giving impromptu lessons to the audience while the cameras rolled!! Well, I was Rolling! On the Floor... Laughing!! (AT MYSELF!!) I couldn't figure out those dance steps to save myself, and gave up after the third "L-R-L....R-L-R"!!! If you do see the commercial, look for me (behind an attractive young lady and her finace?) in my white stripped polo, and tan shorts (doing attempts at EVERY OTHER dance I could think of... "sprinkler" "Macarana" "twist" "wild and crazy chekoszlovakian finger-pointing steve martin dance", etc... ROFLMBO!!)
Other highlights of this week include:
Seeing 3 former classmates: Marla Mann (Lewandowski now - Prayers for her brother, Corey - my best high school chum - in the hospital again with Cronin's disease) Barb Boros (Congrats on the 2nd marriage), Kathy Mast - (one of the coordinator's of our Whitmer Class of 1978 - 30 year class reunion!). Also bike rides to Handel's ice cream with my daughter (and one solo bike ride for me on saturday), our neighbor's the Gerrie's getting the new backyard oval shaped 4' pool, trim the Wietro's lowest tree limbs, (and some on our Cherry tree - Special Thanks to Matt Thiemann from across the street, a foreman for "Davies Industrial Tree-trimming" (Edison) in Michigan, for bringing over pruners to prune some of Wietro's over our driveway "B-ball" court, emails to and from Andy about acquiring the plans to build our own "Official size" backyard "Bean Bag Toss Game", (click on the J.V.B.'s "Open sided Instructions/Advanced" text link - for a downloadable pdf file of the design and construction plans to build your own game! :-) reading the news about neighbor Jeff Lipscomb's 20 year old daughter getting her marriage license (Kudos William Wills II?), Our store manager Lana Freshour's and husbands getaway to The KeyWest (Wow!), Me finishing scrubbing the aluminum siding on the house with outdoors bleach, getting over to Dick's sporting goods to buy a Bike carrier for the trunk of my car, and a headlight and tailight set for my bike, visits to our store by District Maintenace managers Gary and George - and District Auditor Tina Nixon and Manager Tim O'Doneghy!! (Thanks for the 2 new vacuums people!), lots of carpet cleaning by team members Alyssa and A'Darrius on Overnights, THE SAFE and SUCCESFUL RETURN (3rd thereof!) OF OUR ALDERSGATE UNITED METHODIST ROMANIAN MISSION TEAM!! (Deborah house project:-) Kylie's first McCrory Family Reunion in Temperance Michigan with her Mom as an "Official" McCrory!! Seeing vieo on ET of THE Katie Cruise and her daughter "SURI" in Paris France!! (Wow is she just adorable!! I loved hearing her say "Ma-Ma"!!(LOL)) The hiring of many new associates at our store (alot of them very attractive, very pretty, very talented, young ladies, lol! We have to hire 41 new associates by the end of BTS!!) Our store finally becoming a "Contributing Store" to the companies success - by paying off our land and lease - like 6 years ahead of projections, TYVM!!! Now we're makin some money baby!!lol!!) AND lots and lots and lots of other really cool stuff!!

July 9th - 15th, 2007!! The LPGA "Jamie Farr Owens Corning Kroger Classic" at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, OH!!
Mon. 7/9/07 - bought my Week-long grounds pass "exchange ticket" at Kroger's with my Kroger Plus card ($40.00 - Buy one get one free:-)
Tues. 7/10/07 - Drive out to H.M., buy weeklong parking pass ($10.00), ride charter bus over to course after work. get there in time to catch last little bit of "golf show". It was great (hardest shot to hit in golf is "the straight shot" OH, you don't have to tell ME about it! LOL!:-). Stayed on driving range, got to listen to "Meet the Pros" greet session with LPGA tourning professionals Alena Sharp (Canada!), Karrie Webb (Go Aussieland), and Allison Williams (Go Bucks!!). They were really terrific with those in attendance there. The local juniors teaching pro was great (I had meet and talked with her before on a couple of occassions, a very nice lady!! (And really golf-smart! LOL) Afterwards I got to ask Alena for an autograph for Kylie (on our official tournament magazine!), she obliged, and let me wish her "Best of Luck" for a great tournament. Then listened to a Mz. Webb TV interview, and wished her and Allison good luck in the tourney. Walked a couple of the holes, headed back to the busstop pickup, made it home at dinnertime.
Wed. 7/11/07 - Go back to HMGC right after work, catch a few holes of the "Celeb-Pro-Am"!! Got there in time to see Sri Lih Pak (like 4 time champ of the tournament TYVM!!) "hitting the #9 green" with a beatiful fairway chip from across the creek. Just as she walked up onto the
green, Jamie Farr was driven up in a golf cart, hoped out, was handed a putter, and quite handily "professional-like" knocked down the remaining 18 foot birdie putt!! WOW!! Mz Pak obliged many fans (after a brief channel 13 interview right there in front of me. Way to go Mr. Powers! :-) with autographs, and then Mr. Farr granted a quick on-camera interview, and proceeded to sign about 25 - 30 autographs!! He was so calm and cool! It was really inspiring!! (I did not ask for either's autograph, but this is why: Just as they came out from behind the ropes, a young family walked in from behind the bleachers....well, the young girl (Hannah??? She was about 10 or 11 y.o. - which to me is TOTALLY WHAT LPGA GOLF IS TOTALLY ABOUT!! YOu Go Girls!! LIke the excellent motto: THESE "GIRLS" ROCK!! (LOL):-)
- anyways, she had her item(s) to ready to be signed, BUT no pen!! (awwww, I had brought a marker pen with me and had brought my magazine back with me to be "signed"....anyways, you can't always think of everything when leaving the house, and YOU sure can't expect the PROS to carry one for ya!! I mean they are there to play golf right!?!! ) So anyways I loaned this polite "young lady" (and her cousins) my pen on a couple occassions (and was happy and kind of proud to do so)...I was just kind of AWESTRUCK to be that close to miss PAK and Mr. Farr (and all the other PROS and CELEBRITIES)
in the first place, so actual autographs might really kinda "put me over that edge", ya know!?? LOL) Just before Mr. Farr hopped in a cart to head off to his next stop - I was able to ask him if I could "Thank you for your terrific tournament, and ALL you do for the city of TOLEDO!! I think it's really wonderful, sir that you give so much, through your tournament, time, efforts here, etc... to help out the wonderful children, charities, neighborhoods, and entire city the way you do! He extended his hand, shook mine, thanked me for saying that, and was glad that I enjoyed them, said "stick around" there's plenty more good things to come"!! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm being told to move on....TC..nice meeting you, Thanks for being here and your support!!" He Smiled, signed some more autographs, and moved on. Ms. Pak too!! (she had her own cart waiting - which she graciously declined - to be able to stroll with some young fans, and fulfill more requests for more autoraphs on the way to the #10 tee!! WOW!!)
(*special note - A special "BRADNER.CC" THANKS to young Dane F., and his brother ?? F., for asking politely for "YOURS TRULY'S" OWN autograph!! WHAT AN EGO-BOOST!! You kids ROCK!! (I graciously deferred to the PRO LADY golfers!! I mean, I'm here practically 365 a year, the REAL heros (LPGA ladies!) only come in, in general, about once a year!! But I did tell the two young guys and their mom (the lovely Mrs. F, who's husband was golfing in the Pro-Am (WOW!), that if their hats weren't completely signed by saturday and I saw them again there, I would sign them then! LOL! "IT WOULD BE SUCH AN HONOR YOUNG ONES! THANK YOU!!) Oh, and a BIG "WAY TO GO TOLEDO!!" to Toledo's own representative in the JFOCKClassic: "Miss STACEY LEWIS" (Stacey was the ONLY Amateur to make the final cut in the tournament!! Born and raised here in Toledo!! You Go Stacey!! We'll be looking for you and cheering for you again Next Year!! :-)

Now counting the one I saw fly directly over our home and our kohl's store (due south) my first day back to work after vacation (day after I read the Eagles had been taken off the "endangered species" list and placed on "protected"!:-), that makes 3 in the last 2 weeks! Sweeet! My favorite Bird! "Long may she fly!" :-)

Mr. Sullivan and Mrs. Freshour give me my annual performance evaluation (Let's call it a "Meets standard" - **bonus** = calculated out to be about a 20% increase over LY's "Meets Standards" pay rate percentage increase!! (SWEEEET!! It really DOES pay, to be a "Contributing Store"!!LOL) AND I found out that our Beatuy Dept. is in the top 20% (or was it "20 STORES") IN THE REGION LAST WEEK!! Wooohooo!!
(The other side of that "Financial Windfall" was the child support change that goes into effect next week (after the aforementioned "2 year review process") - let's see, came out to be just about what her and I calculated the increase would be! (over the original amount levied two years ago! Whew! Thanks Krista!! (I'm really glad she takes it easy on me! She's a good gal! (Always was! :-)) Home, eat dinner, update website. Thurs., 7/26/07 - "Happy Birthday "Auntie" Lois!!" (Lois turns the same age today as someone else we know and Love!! Ahhh, let's see she must be about... 29 today! Well, she looks it, working as a nurse has been very good to her! .. and her children!! And mine!! Thanks Lois! We know and Love ya !! LOL) Well, I got off work at 4:30, had called Krista the day before (7/25) and asked her if I could have Kylie down for the night, dinner then next day, then home again....We LOVE having her down!! (She keeps me from smoking and drinking, rockn and rollin', etc... and I get to act "like a kid again" when she is here! (well..in some ways, LOL:-) It keeps me young!! That's why I think I would want to have MORE CHILDREN!! (A "LOL"!! Kids and I go GOOD together!! We really do!! Like Kohl's and "All of you"; our customers!! We are a Synergenic combination!! LOL!!)
Wouldn't want to trade it for anything in the world!! LOL!!) Well anyways, Lois asked Krista if she could keep Kylie for another day, and spend her birthday with her and her children (which I think sometimes she includes Kylie to be among!! :-) So when I called Krista to confirm that I would be picking Kylie up at Melanie's this afternoon at 5:30, Krista told me of Lois' request..... (awwwww, I miss "my Kylie" :-)....so I obliged (reluctantly of course, BUT, I didn't want to let Krista in on my disappointment, so I kept my demeanor and vocal tone consistant). Krista thanked me, and then I wished her well at her "Insurance school" (she is retaking the "certification class" to get her "agent's license"! You go girl! I know you can do it! And get your own agency!! I want you to get your own - for You, and Your Jeff, Your Thomas, and especially "OUR Kylie (and You!)"!!! You have my "Good Assurances" on that! LOL! :-)

Mom, Dad, and I go to East side docks, (International Park) and Willis Boyer dock, to check out the "Dragon Fest" (Included a "BCSN" taping of the "Dragon Fest (rowing) competition" (my favorite was the BCSN boat - mom said "look at them go - LOL!) and checking out the USS Niagra (Huge replica schooner? In the Toledo port for the weekend - tours, boat rides, etc... I got some cool pics! :-) Big crowd there! (As we were leaving Dad joked: "I think Mayor Carty would be proud of the turnout here today at his "Dragon Fest" LOL:-) Drive back home out Monroe St., (so M & D could get a view of the "Glass Pavilion" at the Art Museum, 5/3rd, and where new Arena will be located - Mom commented how nice the "Toledo Pride" flowers looked across from WTOL! That's when dad told me gas had gone down to $2.55 a gallon! I was so happy, I even borrowed his credit card right then and there to fillup at our closest BP! :-), sit in drive, converse, Bill pickup BK. Update website, pack up PS2, drive out to Maumee, play Dave at Video games, call Grant and Beth, ask him if he wanted help with his "Myspace webpage" - he had been having problems with his "netzero account") Back home (wanted to listen to some "Live Performances" across the way from Angie and Dave's at the LUCAS County Fair", but I heard the show got cancelled. :-( (would have taken Kylie over, the Ortners went on Friday - but she and her little brother Thomas were to spend the night at their Nana-an-Papa Martinez' - so mom could study for and take her test and "poppy" can have a night off! (or at least that's what Krista told me on Thurs.:-)

Sun., 7/29/07 - Sleep in. Mom and Dad to 8:30 worship service. Read the paper. (congrats Mr. Ripken, and Gwynn on your inductee status!) Call Kylie and talk to her about her "yard sale" she held friday. She said ""2 neighbor friends of mine" helped me with it." (and teardown). Told her that I had met a man at Speedway the night before, he said he was just getting back in town, and that he has driven his car all over the country. (has lived in - and/or visted California, Lousiana, Florida, New York, etc...) Said originally he was from Canada. He talked about horses, and we discussed "the breeders cup". He taught me some about "Sire"s and "Dam"s and "bloodlines". I mentioned to him I have a daughter that "loves" horses. (and that She might really be impressed with all that he knows!:-) I didn't get a chance to ask him if he has a daughter (or two??:-) but I did tell him ("Scott"): "I'll pray for your "safe journey"! (He said he was traveling back up to Michigan to his home. :-) (Take care Scott, maybe I'll see you again someday! I thought he might have been what was "kind of an "okay guy""! I gave him one of my "Bill Bradner" musician business cards, and told him he could email me with more information, LOL:-) He had a firm handshake grip, reminded me kinda like an "IRON Horse" LOL!) I then asked Kylie to please tell "Nana Shari" about this man (I mentioned "foal" to him, lol) I had met and talked with about "horses". She said she would. Speaking of DADS! (Our Dad, Grampie, did spend some of his childhood years on a farm, with horses there he know alot about them too). In my humble opinion, our dad is "The Best Dad of "Alltime"!! ALWAYS WILL BE!! He taught us the phrase: "We are just "Instruments of God"!! Well, "whatever" I am, (was, or will be...lol) I'm still gonna be happy! And I will ALWAYS try to believe "everything is going to work out okay!!" I JUST KNOW IT WILL! Amen!:-)
(p.s. I do believe GOD is with each of us ALL the TIME, and ALWAYS WILL BE! Thank you GOD! Thank you Dad (AND MOM of course!)! We love you! "Forever"! :-)

July 31st, 2007 - read in Toledo Blade about the "passing on" of one of my friends and associates from Kohl's. Courtney Korek. Courtney was a very lovely young lady, very intelligent, and kind and courteous to every. She worked at our Monroe St. store, before returning to College. She will be greatly missed by those whom worked with her, and all who knew her. "May God Bless the Korek family and friends."

Into work at 2:00 - work until 8:30. Try to hurry over to the Zoo to catch the concert. (Road was blocked with police cars barricading it, so I turned on the radio, headed home, and heard the mudhens had defeated Richmond 2 to 1! :-) Home, change clothes, watch a little bit of the Tigers game. Made some popcorn, upstairs, sign on the "WSoP" PS2 online, play some PS2 poker. To bed. Day off work tomorrow.

Thurs., 8/4/07 - "Rib-Off" at Lucas county fairgrounds (Kohl's "A-Team" has about 12 events "signup sheets" for that weekend (as far as volunteering at the "Rib-Off" - I would do "cleanup", but it's on sunday night, and I like to take Kylie to the zoo concert then....but for the other 11, they were for "serving beer" (and you all know how I feel about "BEER"!! Yuck!!) Sandy did organize other opportunities though, most for the "Maumee Valley Girl Scouts" fundraisers, which I would bring Kylie along to - a good chance to see other girls being "empowered", would have a positive influence on her life - but, they are all during times I am scheduled!! Can you say "dang it" LOL!)

Weekend, Fri-Sun. 10th-12th, 2007 - Off work, woohooo! Kylie come down on saturday (spent the night at a friends house on friday - I kinda wanted her here that night too, but "Ya gotta share!... sorry, but you can't have her ALL THE TIME!!!" LOL!
(So instead, I painted our back fence (that abutts the Kozlowski's - they are letting their grandson "Andy" powerwash their garage and paint it. Their son, Todd was there and his wife Claire - Claire worked for a couple years at Kohl's 253 with us.) I finished Ted and Nina's side just before it started raining (*note - here it is almost a week later, as I write this, and we've had so much rain, when I have time to paint, that I still haven't finished the touchups on their side, finished rolling our side, and started on the last section of fence between Jeff and Jessica's and ours!! LOL!!)
After got cleaned up from painting, I rode my bicycle to Kohl's and returned an item, then to the library (just missed hearing a band (www.lakewilson.com - Thanks Tom Jackson, buddy!:-) and returned some books kylie checked out. Finally rode my bike over to "Handels" ice cream, got myself a cone. (I tell everybody I'm "conditioning" for the BIKE TO THE BAY charity fundraiser - I hope I will be able to participate this year, not sure what my work schedule will be then though:-) After, I rode back home, updated website a little, downloaded some pics from my digital camera, emailed some family, stayed up and watched ESPN)

Here is a list of some of the great concerts that were held in Toledo recently (that I had missed attending - schedule conflicts) - Bryan Adams and George Thorogood at the Zoo, Marshall Tucker Band (with Josh Boyd Band from Toledo opening act) - at the Lucas county fairgrounds, Pat Benatar the next night at fair (I really wanted Ky to hear her live - I'd seen her twice I think, in 80s!:-), and Travis Tritt (Ky likes country like her mom! :-), not to mention ALOT of good local music - Man! I just don't have the money or time to see all the good acts that are coming to Toledo!! You go "Stars!!", "Promoters!!" and "Producers!!" LOL!!:-)
Sat. - Ky and I type up new "Dear Neighbor: Please accept this Kohl's Coupon...." and went door to door passing them out to our neighbors on our street! (18 of them! *note - as of 8/11/07 - I have passed out, or personally handed out over "130" of those little puppies! Even "mailed" 10 of them on thursday (packs of 3 - 41 cents TYVM:-) to family and friends in other towns. (A pack of them I sent to my mom's sister and brother-in-law the Dr. Smiths. Well, you heard me mention they lived in New Orleans during the time of hurricane Katrina, and had to evacuate just prior to the storm. They returned to their home there afterwards, and deciding on relocation. (to TEXAS!). I still pray for the victims of Katrina! Life there has got to be tough. ("God? When will it get better!??") :-(
Later, Ky and I rode our bikes to a corner gas station, for a "sodapop and candy bar" after lunch. Then after dinner we rode down to school house for some "swinging on the swings" (said "Hi" to Kyle Mauck who was there with his son Mason - who's now 3 years old thank you very much!!) Read "wedding anniversary notice" mom had pointed out to us, from The Blade, about the Szczublewski's "50th" on August 3rd! Congrats, neighbors (Mrs. S. shops at our store often! And so does another of our neighbor's "The Wietrokowski's" (who used to live on Monac drive years ago!) who celebrated their 41st anniversary on July 2nd! Congrats!:-) Eat dinner (spagetti - I think mom made "garden salads" the night before, with deviled eggs, ham, vedalia onions, etc.. mmmm) - Kylie "chowed down!" LOL! Kylie play PS2 - now has "AAA ranked ribbons", four horses and several buckles on her "SB Stables" game, AND a "foal" she's very proud of on "Horsez"! LOL! - She still jokes about moving to Australia, marrying her 3rd grade "boyfriend", owning 3,000 acres horse farm, and letting me have a 3 bedroom "guesthouse" to myself on the property when I retire!! LOL!! Well honey..."When you wish upon a star,..." LOL!!) Bill stay up listen to MP3 player on back step, checkout my myspace and mychurch webpages (ADDED some new friends! Sun., everyone up for church, dressed (Kylie wore her favorite Blue "chifon(?)" dress (summer dress shoes I had for her were WAY to big and 2 different sizes, LOL! - So she wore matching "flip-flops!" LOL - noone commented, TYLOrd! LOL!:-) All ride over in Mom and Dad's car. Pastor Ruth lead the service, after mom checked out by "church nurse" (she had an appointment last week with Dr. Thom Cox - a church member, he wants her to see one more doctor before she goes back to florida.) (I wanted to stay after service for "A/V training on "powerpoint" presentations for worship service, and a "refresher" on how to "mix the sound board" (24 channels baby!) - but we all rode together, and I had kylie here this week.)
(Dad had bought a new "Craftsman" lawn mower from Sears yesterday - so we got that outta the box and prepped it! (Gotta love those "Briggs and Stratons!")
After lunch call Krista, ask her if I could keep Kylie til after the Zoo concert at 7:30, she said okay. Eat dinner, leave for the Zoo, listen to some great selections ("Mancini Magic" - guest conductors from UAW and GM Powertrain plant - "Most Productive in NATION again!" TYVM!!) Bought some "dippin dots" for Ky - took our picture in front of "butterfly house exhibit" again, during intermission. Watched the Casablanca dancers twice! (I liked the patriotic one the best!), heard "Sax 4th avenue" - gave them a "Kohl's Friends and Families" coupon) Loved the 2 encores!! (Ky went "nuts" over the arrangement for "Pirates of the Carribbean"!!) Thanked Mr. Gordon Ward afterward (he wasn't sure if he remembered my dad - thought he was the "accountant Bradner", LOL) gave him a "Kohl's" coupon (said he was going over tomorrow already! LOL), thanked conductor Szor - gave him a coupon He said "Thank you very much, but I'm not much of a shopper" LOL!!) walked back to cars with folding chairs and umbrella (we sat down front in second row! whoohoo!)
Drop ky off at her mom's, kissed her goodnight, return home (forgot to give Krista her set of "Kylie's clothes" from saturday morning that I washed - so I had to drive up there and drop them off monday before going into work.)

Wed., 8/8/07 - Off work at 3:30, stop at a couple speedways, drop off some more Kohl's coupons for the employees there (I'm on a first name basis with a majority of them, at my usual stations:-), find out "Mike" the District Manager in Training, threw out a big batch of coupons I dropped off the weekend prior. Oh well, that's his puragative, personally I would of handed them out, LOL:-) After dinner (spagetti, salad, milk and bread again...mmm:-), head downtown to the catch the last inning of the Mudhens 5 - 2 victory!!
Way to go hens! I see that "post-season" tickets have gone on sale already!! I'll be buying my soon, TYVM! (I KNOW the hens will be playing a home game on my birthday again!! I love seeing my name up on that Big, Ole "HensVision" scoreboard screen! LOL!!) Stop by dugout after last out (strikeout! woohoo), and ask for another autograph from Jeremy Johnson! (this one on the back of my jersey - I gave him a 1/2 dozen Kohl's coupon's for him and his teamates - a "TY" for the autograph on my daughter's pink baseball mitt! :-) Head back home, stop at family video, give out some more coupons, rent 4 movies ("Flags of our Fathers", etc... woohoo! :-) Home, watch ESPN, update sites, to bed. (Off work tomorrow)

Thurs. 8/9/07 - Sleep in, (rainy, overcast again) call Krista about Ky coming down, she asked me if Ky could stay up there again (Lexi and Brit stayed overnight the night before - Ky stayed at their house for 2 nights prior) and have Lexi over for one night. Ky get on phone, ask me please (so, how could I say "no :-). Downtown for "Lunch music series at Levi Square" - listen to the sounds of "Johnny Rodreguiz" (he played "BEERRUN" LOL, afterwards I asked if he woulda played another verse or two, I would of "AdLibbed" my daughter and I's "SODAPOP" version. Exchanged business cards, met his wife Kim (a very nice lady, and very supportive!:-) he invited me to "sit in anytime" with him at "Johnny's" in the south end! Found out the organization that puts together the lunch time concerts is bringing in "Johnny Reed and the Homewreckers" next week! (They Rock dudes, I've heard them many times at the Rally by the Rivers, etc...":-) Kewl!:-)
Home again, nap, eat dinner, go back to speedway (pop, candy bars - cash in my rewards for a $50 APPLEBEES gift card! ("Put away the pots and pans honey, tonight we'll be eatin' GOOD - "We're going to APPLEBEES!!" LOL! Woooohooo!:-)
Watch movies, tv, eat popcorn, call Ky say goodnight, to bed.
(*note - Please say a prayer for Krista (Ky's mom), that she is able to get a new (higher paying?, whoohoo!:-) job soon! She lost her job at the insurance company - I know from our marriage (she was unemployed for about 2 or 3 years of it:-( Bless her heart) that times can be tough (stressful?!!?) when not enough money's coming in. Hang in the Kris, I KNOW something better will come along for you real soon! You're WAY to smart, kind, and good-hearted to be unemplyed for long!! (and beside your child(-ren) deserve better!! :-)
(*"up" note - did see TWO elementary school classmates (Monac) in the store that day - Tim Csurgo and his lovely wife Christine (Keifer), with their lovely children. (Tim was in the day before, took time to say "hi" to me - I think he was there doing some "pre-shopping" (smart guy! - find the sale items you want ahead of time, then it's "In and out" when you come back (with the family, none the less!:-) to make a purchase! Thanks Tim, and Christine, you Rock! :-)

August 9 - 12th - Christ the King festival - Maybe Mr. and Mrs. Holmes will make an appearance! (did I tell you, I thought I saw one of Katie's sisters in Kohl's paying her Kohl's credit card bill! She is way cool! I about freaked! LOL) I like the sundays at the festival the best - less of a beerdrinking crowd! :-)
(*note - Teresa our "Home" department associate walked down there friday after work and volunteered some of her time! Way to go T! They had a pretty good crowd, I could hear the "screams of excitement" from the "smoking area" where I took my break. Then after work, drove by "Nick and Jimmies" could hear the "Band on the Patio"!! Rockin!! I imagine it was a fairly exciting night in west toledo, for those attending the 2 events - probably a lot of walking back and forth! (seen 'em going by our store! LOL!) I just pray it was a safe one for all! (I think were in for a "repeat performance" tonight people! Rock on! LOL)
(*on a family member note - Ky spent the weekend camping with her mom, poppy, bubby, grandma Suzy, Suzy's boyfriend Charlie, and Charlie's brother. I asked her if she got to do any fishing, she said she "tried with her hands first, and then with a bag, but neither worked" - I asked her if she had fun though, and she quickly replied: "YEAH!" (Kewl!) Campin is one thing I don't get to do much of with her, so I'm glad she got to go! :-)

Friday and Sunday - 8/11-13/07 - Work all weekend (1:30-10pm friday, 3:00-11:30 sat., and noon-8pm sunday! Whew!)
The store sure Looked like it was "Back to School" time! Dang!! And we have another visit from Loretta (our RVP) and Mr. O'Doughetry (DM) week of 8/19-25th!! Arggggh!! From the condition of the store this weekend, it sure was evident it's "back to school" shopping days! LOL!
During work, I mentioned to Chris Mack, (our "27 supervisor", who just drove back from a week vacation he spent in florida - too bad about the brake problems in Tennessee Chris), about my myspace webpage, and some of the people I have on there. He said "I have a myspace webpage too, But it's "Gay as Hell"! I just laughed and said I would add him anyways. Well, when I was clicking around Tessa Hendricks' myspace page (she's a POS associate at our store, kinda young, very pretty, gotta crush on "Brad", etc....I emailed her: "Who did your webpage? It's "Tough as H@ll"!! It is really sharp, you can tell someone put a heck of alot of time into it! :-)) I came across Chris Mack's page! (NOT to be confused with the "Chris Mack" we know and love from "Aldersgate UMC" - who is on my friend's list on Mychurch.org/Aldersgate! LOL!) So I added him "Chris" to my friends (thought: "What the heck...another person from work, won't hurt anything"). Well, Chris told me at work - "Alyssa" from your housekeeping department is on his friend's list - you can "add" her there too! (Also found "Brad" our LP Manager on there (he's a veteran of the "US ARMY Special Forces"!! Sweet!) - and sent him a "friends request" as well.LOL) Well, anyways, I went back the next day, and checked out Chris' webpage a little closer - (ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! HE'S NOT KIDDING!!!! LOLLLLLLLLLL!)
Oh well....ya live and learn and laugh... (and move on...*sighhhhh*)
(he's an okay guy, I mean "I don't bother him, he don't bother me.....(gotta go back to the Sienfeld quote: "Not that there's anything wrong with that?!??!" "NOT that I would EVER do that!!" LMBO!) He's good at his job though, and I guess that's what counts! Right?:-)

Sunday night - talk to Ky on the phone, she sounded excited about her camping trip....said "g'nite" to M and D, update websites, laundry, bed. (work tomorrow a.m. at 8)

Mon., 8/13/07 - Into work at 8 (A'Darrius a no-call-no-show night before), got there in time for the "morning huddle" - Nancy and Matt(02) there - good meeting, heard alot of good things about past weekend sales and credit goals. (I especially liked Matt's talk about "We're all adults - clean up after yourselfs (housekeeping does a tough enough job:-), Lana's on vacation this week (Kewl!), and We Will get this place cleaned up" (before Loretta's visit). Nancy had some good news about our store's earliest ever achieving of our "hiring goal" for the pre-christmas quotas! We received some "really excellent looking" bed and misses diplays (The D.F. corner Accent diplay looks like a dang "modeling runway"/"ModernArtDeco"-meets-"BAck to the Future" runway out of a "AndyWarhol" sculpture! LOL! (It's "TO THE WALL" PPL! Awesome!)
I also got to personally "donate" some time (and all of our Spring KCK's items:-) to "The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Toledo"!! (Thanks for the help "loading out" Mr. Allen Smith and associate!)

LOL!) Ride home, (Thanks to the carload of "CUTE Honeys" on Laskey road in their "sweet ride" for the horn honks of encourage a "CatCalls" LOL!! (*I head about burst outta my helmet!!! BMBO!!:-) Home, update website on back porch....email Griz, ask him if he could play "SEEK AND DESTROY". It's one of my "alltime favs" by Metallica! Heard Griz announce "IOT Listener Appreciation Concert" at Gatorz on Aug. 31st! (I'll have to check my work schedule - sounds like a great show, a great venue, and a great time - I hope I can check it out!)
(*note - GRIZ emailed me back and said "Thanks for the request, being a "Third horsemen is all about "partying at the Apocalypse" (LOL) I'll try to get to your request Wednesday or Thursday". Thanks GRIZ you rock!:-)

Friday, August 17th, 2007 - I was scheduled to work. (Awwww, what?!? you mean I won't be able to attend the "Neo-Nazi" rally dowtown AGAIN!! AWWW Schucks!! And I was SOOO looking forward to their THIRD visit here!!! YEAH RIGHT!!! NOT!!!! I think alot of these "jokers" come up here from somewhere in VA!! Well guys, "What the heck is wrong with YOUR neighborhoods!??!!" LOL!!
Ya know what I'd like to do...if I had that night off....is load up the cars with a bunch of rock-and-rollers from up here in Toledo, drive down to this "Bill White's" house down in Virginia (or whoever, and/or wherever "the joker" is this time!), and "ROCK OUT" with some heavy "PEACE and LOVE" songs right in his next door neighbor's yards ON THREE SIDES!!! (with their permission of course!:-) TYVM!! Heck, I'd play for FREE!! Might even try to put on a 12 hour, non-stop, all-out, no-holds-barred, continious show!! Heck, who knows...I might even play a "6 hour version" of "One World, People, God"!!! LOL!! Ya never know!:-) Anyways, I got MUCH BETTER things to do, then worry about someones who I would call "some bunch of fools"'s opinions!!!
(*note - as it turned out, I didn't have to worry about it anyways - I heard they had cancelled it! :-)
(PM - after work, pickup Ky from her mom's at 11, home, tuck her in bed. Spend Saturday with her (Bike rides, video games, etc...
I plan to make her a new "wall-sized" multiplication table for her bedroom. Then trips to the library, video store, ice cream shoppe, etc....
THEN drop her off Sunday morning AND GET READY RACE FANS, CUZ IT's SUNDAY!!

Wed., 8/16/07 - Sleep in, dad golfing, mom read newspaper on her bed. (I got to massage her back for a little while with a minature massager that Ky and I got for dad to message mom's back with here in Toledo! She thanked me very much, and then I moved the back massage mat from "great grandmother Bradner's" rocking chair in the living room, to mom and dad's bed. She said to set it up and plug it in on dad's side of the bed! LOL! Then I let her rest a little while, and went out to the garage to update this website (had to sit in the garage because of "drizzle" in the area). Shower, into work at 2 pm. (Busy sales day! Worked "the front end" - arranging carts, helping bag customer's purchases, thankin customers for "shopping at Kohl's", emptying the garbage, pick up the hangers from the hanger bars under the counters, etc...:-) Off work at 10:30 - (I thought T this was the night I was able to get Kylie - you know come spend the night and next day with me here at my parent's house!) - well, I drove straight up to Temperance to pick up kylie (Krista and I had talked earlier in the week about kylie coming to stay the weekend with me) WELL...it's seems I was a little too thrilled to see my daughter again, and I WENT TO PICK HER UP 2 DAYS EARLY!! "Doyhh!":-) So, when kylie told me my mistake, I drove around the block once, kissed her "goodnight" on the cheek, and asked Krista if I could pick her up again at this time on friday night. (She said "yes!") So....Ky's coming to stay with me friday night and saturday night, then "grampie" is driving her home after church on sunday morning!! (Cuz' I'll be on my way to MIS with my buddy Dave - In his brand new (p[previously owned:-) Mercury Mountaineer!! He told me: "We'll be riding in some "STYLE" this time." LOL!)
Home, update websites on back porch....watch ESPN, to bed.

Thurs. 8/16/07 - Sleep in til 9am. mom and dad up to take mom to her colonoscopy, while dad goes to his dentist appointment. (I offered to help, dad said "no, you go fill up your gas tank with gas, before the prices go up this weekend, LOL) Home, call verizon DSL, inquire about service for mom and dad's condo in florida (so I can cancel my MSN dialup (it was a good service, done good by me for about 10 years now! Thanks "Bill and Linda"!LOL)

(And I'm talking to you "ROCK STARS" TOO! - ya great "Role models you!!)) at Graceland (Our mom and Dad took all of our family to Graceland, when I was a child - Elvis was on tour then, but we got to walk his yard, and even peeked in the door! (I think I have a slide of us in front of the gates, I'll try to post it on here for you someday! I remember I hummed "houndog" to myself! LOL!:-))
After dinner (Tossed salad with all the toppings!:-), I showered then rode my bike over to Kohl's. Tried on some "Reebok performance wear" (decided on a white, long sleeve top, and black shorts. I wanted a white, short sleeve top, so I asked Kathy to call airport, but then told her I would just stop over there saturday and see if they had any. Also picked up a copy of the "Fergie" CD for Kylie (shhh...don't tell her.:-) Ride back home, watch the Tigers - Yankees game! Yeah! Go Tigers, way to get back in first!! Post-season here we come! :-) Update websites on back step. Bed.

Friday, 8/17/07 - PayDay Baby!! Back into work at 2:00 for one more day before my 3 day weekend TYVM!! Work until 10:30 pm, clockout, head straight up to Rebekka Crane's house, a classmate of Kylie's, who's mom had invited Kylie to a "High School Musical 2" network premiere party! (Kylie said she "had a blast"! (We were handed a lovely brochure - all about the fundraising to raise "breast cancer awareness". I was able to meet and talk with "Julie Tate" (who is an area manager for 3 McDonald's store around Perrysburg area!) Julie is "Breast Cancer Survivor"!! AND the Captain of a team that will be competing to raise the most donations for the 14th Annual Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure®! The name of her team is "Faith, Family and Friends"!! (I gave her Sandy's name, from our Kohl's store "A Team" - and I hope they will use us as "volunteers" for that day (our store would donate $500.00 to the cause if we had 5 who signed up!!) It is being held in Downtown Toledo on September 30th, 2007 - Although I'm already "booked" to play at my church that morning - but I think if I talk to Pastor Schroeder, we might be able to get it rescheduled! I Hope! :-)
(after lunch - I wanted to take Kylie "window shopping" for a new Harley Davidson motorcycle for me (yeah right! LOL) so we stopped by Signature Harley Davidson there in Perrysburg ...guess they had some kind of "bike rally" going, so we just took some pictures and moved on to our next destination.

(*note as it turned out a long time (about 8-9 years) associate of mine from Kohl's - Carey Siddel - her husband John (who I went to Whitmer HS with, and had seen at the radio station WIOT - was playing drums for the band "Mas Fina" there, to raise money for some charity.)

1:00pm - International Festival - Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, Perrysburg, OH ($3.00 parking fee per vehicle will get you a free tour of the Islamic center!! - we got to learn a little about another religion!) The Mosque was so cool! We got to stand inside the "prayer center" (no shoes on the carpet plese:-)
During our tour guides speech in the "prayer center", Kylie and I had our picture taken there, and then Kylie took some video of me saying a quick "prayer"! (Yes, I was "facing east", LOL - those who are islamic, "pray" 5 times a day, and even more! :-)

(*note - Bob Wietrokowski next door had offered my Dad and I tickets to the CLEVELAND BROWNS exhibition football game (vs. Detroit) for that night in cleveland (7 pm)...but I thought with having to get up early, and kylie being here this night, it would be better if I turned them down and just stayed home! Thanks anyways Bob (he said, "no problem, I got them through a co-worker, maybe I'll get lucky and we'll get offered some more later this season.)
My dad and I did stay up and watch the game on TV. Mr. Quinn did a good job on his 2 touchdown drives in the last 10 mins! "Way to go Brady!" (also #5 - Hill, #12 Steptoe, and #35 - Harrison had some key plays and a good game! "Here we go Browns!!":-)

Sunday, August 19th, 2007 - GFS400 at MIS with Dave!! Go Gordon! Go Johnson!! (Go Kasey!!(well, what can I say, gotta have maybe "1" dodge up there Somewhere, LOL)) Rock on Ya'All!! (Have a SAFE one! :-)
RAINED OUT!! Sleep in, call Dave, update website.
Eat breakfast. Kylie had made her bed "All by herself" (to help out G & G she said! Awww:-), I called her mom, and asked her "since the race is today can my mom and dad drop off Kylie there after lunch? Kris said "okay":-) take a quick shower, go to worship service, home, mom and dad drive Kylie home, change my clothes, Dave and I drive up to Brooklyn and wait to hear "official word" on if the race was cancelled or not "DUE TO RAIN"!. (It was....rescheduled for noon tomorrow). Work on website some more. (Videos to webpages!:-) Eat dinner, clean up room, play video games, to bed.)

Mon., August 20, 2007 - RAIN, RAIN Go AWAY - Please LORD letting the flodding stay AT BAY! Second (or is it third?!??) day of RAIN!! Up at 7am, call Dave - we talked about the weather (RAIN in forecast - 100% - at Brooklyn, MI, where MIS is held - until 2pm on Tuesday! Those poor drivers and crews, and track volunteers "Oh no!) The paper said "MIS officials said the campers can stay until noon tuesday, and people without campers can "sleep in the cars"?!?? (I'd be getting the outta Brooklyn about now! There's floodin all over the place up there! I hope Dave doesn't decide to use his "day off" today - I told him "I recommend we don't even go up there AT ALL today!" Mom and Dad up, have coffee, Bill sit in garage and surf The Weather Channel website (To give mom and dad a break, and so we wouldn't drive each other "stir crazy"!! LOL) Other than that, I'm just going to work on converting some slides to JPeg's, so I can perserve them in digitial format on CDRoms!! Then, afterwards if time allows before I go back to work on Tuesday morning (I don't think the race will happen at all on tuesday either - "maybe" wednesday, but I don't think NASCAR officials will keep the drivers there that long, then need to be at the next track by wednesday a.m.!), I'll "Label" all my digital recording tapes I've made of our "family events"! (In some ways "RAIN" can be a blessing) Our prayers go out to those that are in "flood areas" being effected by the Storms!

Mon., 8/20/07 - (AUMC - 5:30 pm) "Town Hall Meeting" with the Mayor of Toledo, Carty Finkbeiner, 13 leadaers of City Departments, Mayor's office staff, 2 city councilmen, our own pastor Marilynn Schroeder, members of our church, and residents of the Devaux area!! (It was very informational, great Q & A session, and I think ALOT of positive things are going to come out of this (AND other "Town Hall Meetings" around town!:-)
The mayor shook my hand personally, and spoke to me afterward (I had the honor of being one of those to "ask the mayor and other city leaders a question" (actually mine was more of a compliment "I'm glad you brought up Wi-Fi internet citywide...and keeping the city's Young upward-mobile here, or returning to the city" :-) The mayor did ask me "On camera" my name, and how long I had been a member of Aldersate! Kewl) The mayor also told me, before he was engaged into another's discussion, "Watch for yourself on the Fox news (10pm) and the 11:00 O'clock news! I assured him I would, and thanked him again.
(Later that night, I recorded both Fox and ABC news - below is some clips of "Yours Truly" appearing "On TV" from that meeting!)
(*note - I was able to present the Mayor (through his Associate "Mr. Davies") and his head of the City Engineering dept., MR. Miller, with a typed "Proposal" for NEW SIDEWALKS, in our West Toledo area!! You've heard me mention how much Kylie and I LOVE the sidewalk the City laid along west Laskey road, and how it would be "Super, if we could get a NEW sidewalk along Harvest Road (from the two Elementary schools leading to the Washington Local branch of the library there on harvest!! (Prior to leaving for the meeting, I typed up 2 quick copies of a letter addressed to "The Honorable Mayor Carlton S. Finkbeiner" and took them with me!! There was alot of comments there on "neighborhood improvements, so who knows! I wrote in the letter, that I realize there are MANY MANY budget constraints now, but I still think it would benefit the children (safety, education) AND long term improvement to the neighborhood! (Deter crime, civic PRIDE,etc...:-) I didn't get to say "Thank you for your own Wage CUT! though AND "Kudos on the recycling!"):-)
>>>

Thurs., 8/23/07 - Work 2 - 10:30. Before work, call the "Toledo division of Solid Waste" to get a number where I could drop off my "very first computer" (A "Commodore Amiga" I purchased back in 1989 - I sold my "13 Piece 2xBass TAMA "Rockstar" drum kit to raise the money for it! It cost $2600.00!! I did alot of my early "video production" work on it! (And it was the first computer I used to access the internet!! (12/89!!) LOL) They gave me a phone number for the "Lucas County "Electronic/Computer" recycling dept." I talked to a "Kim" there, that made an appointment for me at "Heritage Environmental Services" on Enterprise Dr. in North Toledo, for 10:10am on Saturday, 8/25/07. I have to pay the $13.00 fee, but that includes the "recycling" of the Amiga CPU, a RGB monitor, keyboard, mouse, all associated floppy's, the manual, and an additional monitor! (Hey, at least I can say I'm "trying to do my part for the environment!" LOL:-)
Work until 10:30 - stop at Speedway get a "freezee", home change clothes, call Krista, make arrangements to pick up Kylie to spend friday night and saturday morning here. She told me they would be starting "Fall hours" soon when school went back in session. Complimented her on doing a fine job (and tipped her 80 cents! woohoo!)
Get on myspace - do a search for "Ron Luce" (I would like to add him to my "Friends list" - Top 10 TYVM!! I think the work he does with "Battlecry" is awesome! AND I think he's right! People need to start "speaking up more for JESUS CHRIST!" It's my belief that this great country "The USA" was founded on "Christian Beliefs and Values" and that's what we need to STICK WITH to make this thing work the best!! The darn ACLU is getting us "TOO far away" from being able to Pray, etc... in public, schools, etc., anymore, and I think the american society as a whole sometimes, is suffering for it!
(*note - the night before I watched a terrific "special report" on CNN called "GOD'S WARRIORS"!! It was excellent! I watched the stuff on different religions and beliefs, and they were all interesting and such, but the part that really caught my eye was the story on "Battlecry 2007", Ron Luce, and a young lady named "Mindy"! That was amazing! (something about "Battlecry San Francisco" - I wore my "SanFrancisco" shirt tonight, that I had bought there in chinatown in 1978, to show my appreciation to "Battlecry"! LOL!) Anyways I thought: That's where I am!! (This is me: An "over-the-hill God's "BattleCry Warrior"!!LOL!!) Those young people rock!! (and when they interviewed those 3 teenage girl's who said they took a "virginity promise" to abstain from sex until after they are married!! That was it! I almost cried with joy! If I could wish one thing for my daughter, it would be that she understands, pledges, and lives by that same oath! Bless your heart! Thank you honey, I love you! I "Promise" you: "if you do, I will!" (not until I'm married again that is! LOL! *note - and sometimes I'm not too sure that's ever gonna happen again - at least not until "The Right Lady Asks me First!" (Lord hear my prayers please!) LOL! :-)
I wish I had taken that oath when I was a 13 year old!! (My life might be a heck of alot better today, and myself more dedicated to Jesus! I pray Jesus understands though, and will forgive me for my ignorance and mistakes! :-)
Update my Mychurch.org/Bradner webpage and Kylie's mychurch webpage! (We have 6 members at our "Mychurch.org/Aldersgate" webpage now!! Woohooo! They are: Kylie, myself, Steve Burress (who plays guitar in our praise band with me!), Doyle Ayers, Chris Mack, and JodieP!! (Woohoo! We're "GROWING"!! Way to go "Aldersgate ONline" LOL! Keep up the good work! :-)
(*note - I checked "Mychurch.org/Aldersgate is listed on Google now!! Kewl!)
August 23 - 26th(?) - German American Festival in Oregon - I like going on Sunday "Family Day". I think it's good to expose the young, to different cultures and traditions. (BUT, ya already know how I feel about beer! One of my new quotes: "If the events got beer...I ain't theere!!" LOL!!)

Tues., August 27th, 2007 - Sleep in, go over to Home Depot, buy more painting supplies to paint our fence between the Schloz's property and ours. (Talked to Jeff there about paintin it. As I said he's a WHS '79 grad - said he played one season on the varsity hockey, and a season of track - told me out mailman, "Jerry" was also a '79 WHS grad, and ran track too! I confirmed this with Jerry the next day, I guess he was pretty good at it! No wonder he can still handle "all that walking!" LOL!) Dad golfing at White Pines, he and 9 of his VGC buddies went up to Bedford Hills last week, and out to Highland Meadows the week before (valleywood too wet), mom run errands, shopping, pack my lunch) Wire brush fence, roll on paint in first 2 8foot sections - Jess keep "Emma" and "Jacob" in the house for me. Clean up, shower, into work at 2 pm. Tim O'Doughetry, our DM from Cleveland at store for a visit. He shook my hand as soon as I walked in the door, and asked how I was doing! (Later he asked if gary had put in a "service call" for the plumbing issues in the men's restroom and the water heater installation in the women's. I said I thought he had done that yesterday. Other than that he mentioned some carpet stains and spots that needed attention, but overall he thought the store looked "well vacuumed"!! (Way to go 253 Hskping Team!
